Wally has harvested some crunchy, nutritious and delicious sunflower greens from his home plot, and they will be for sale at the farmer’s market this week.
Also at the market will be new red potatoes, storage fingerling potatoes (which are great for roasting), green onion (red and white varieties), micro green salad mixes and rhubarb.
Have you tried sunflower greens yet? They are very high in magnesium, vitamin B-6, iron and many other vital nutrients. They are even higher in protein than spinach, and we have them for sale weekly at the Saskatoon farmer’s market this summer.
We also have lots of colourful and delicious salad mixes, which are comprised of a variety of microgreens (pea shoots, daikon radish and sunflower greens).
The crops at the peri urban plot are robust and looking good. We have lots of white and red onion, spinach and potatoes growing.
Currently at the farmer’s market, we are selling storage fingerling potatoes (from last fall), rhubarb, white and red onions, garlic greens, sunflower greens, salad mixes (which are composed of sunflower greens, daikon radish and pea shoots) and spinach. We also have some tomato, hot pepper and rhubarb bedding plants left.
We will finally have fresh green garlic available at the farmer’s market tomorrow. It has a thick, almost leek-like stalk, with a nice garlic punch. It is a delicacy.

This week at the market, we will have Scallions, Spinach, Rhubarb, Fingerling Potatoes and Tomato bedding plants (such as Black Cherry, Purple Russian, Black Zebra, and many others) galore.

Wally harvested & washed a ton of spinach today, so there will be lots at the market this weekend. There will also be rhubarb, potatoes, carrots, scallions, microgreens and heirloom tomato bedding plants.
Also, some Black Cherry Tomatoes just got potted up…
Wally has just harvested the first bed of spinach, which will be available at the farmer’s market this Wednesday. In the same bed, he will be replanting garlic, which should be ready by early July.
We now have Rhubarb (cut stalks or in a container as a bedding plant), Scallions and Spinach for sale at the market.
There are still quite a few Heirloom Tomato & Hot Pepper bedding plants as well.
Microgreen salad mixes & Pea Shoots are available, as always.
After nature gave everything a good watering, Wally got busy washing Fingerling potatoes. They will be for sale at the market on Wednesday & there will be lots!
We may also have some Rhubarb…
